Privacy policy

Last updated 10 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data the United People's Party Liberal (“UPPL”, “we”) collects through uppl.org.in, why, and the choices you have. We process personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect

  • Account: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash).
  • Profile: anything you choose to add — photo, phone, gender, date of birth, occupation, district and a short bio.
  • Membership application: name, father's or spouse's name, mobile number, date of birth, gender, address, district, voter ID (optional) and your constituency, primary and polling station.
  • Donations: name, email, mobile number, address, PAN (where given or required), amount and the payment reference. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by our payment processor, Razorpay, and never reach our servers.
  • Messages you send through the contact form.

Why we use it

  • To run your account, process your membership and issue your membership card.
  • To connect members with their local primary committee and keep them informed about party work.
  • To issue donation receipts and to meet our legal obligations, including reporting contributions to the Election Commission of India and tax authorities as the law requires.
  • To reply to your messages and keep the site secure.

Who can see it

Your membership and donation details are visible only to you and to authorised party office-bearers. Your profile is private unless you switch on “public profile”; even then, your phone number, email and date of birth are never shown. We do not sell personal data.

How long we keep it

We keep membership records for as long as you are a member. Donation records are kept for as long as the law requires us to retain financial and contribution records.

Your rights

You can view and correct most of your information from your account at any time. To withdraw consent, request erasure of your data, or raise a grievance, write to us through the contact page. Some records — such as donation receipts — must be kept to meet legal obligations even after you close your account.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember your display preferences. We do not use advertising cookies.
